We have been looking for a fun way to bring greeting cards to our customers, and Rachel figured it out! Leigh has been drawing fun cards for years, but getting them out there has never been easy. Sending the work out gets expensive, which means that the final product costs too much! Rachel's idea is to make high-quality prints of Leigh's original art, and then glue the art to archival quality cardstock. We have lots of holiday designs, as well as humorous everyday designs! Check them our at our Etsy Shop now!

Geekshow says HEY!
As some/most/many of you out there are aware, Leigh is a panelist on the GeekShowPodCast; a great group of guys (some of whom we've known for DECADES!) who get together and talk about all things geek. It's become quite a phenomenon actually and has a tremendous following with events like the monthly GSPC movie night (@ Brewvies Cinemapub, (often with audience participation a'la MSTK3000) and a pub quiz in conjunction with our friends at Big Shiny Robot. SO....truth be told, we owe quite a bit of our publicity to the word of mouth created by LGK's involvement with the show...so much so that we're finding quite a few of our custom orders starting with the words "Geek Show says Hey" and "Heard about your creations on the Geekshow Podcast"
Which brings us to this custom hat that Rachel whipped up a couple of weeks ago at a listener's request...the Capt'n Cappy!!!!
(we especially love how the eyeholes fit perfectly around Ryan's glasses!)
The question has arisen and yes, Hawkeye, Batman, Wolverine and maybe even a Hydra Agent would be possible.....Get your orders in soon for the holidays kids! GeekyMaskHats aren't just for Halloween any more! Fly your Geek Flag High!!!!
So thanks GSPC! and thanks to the fans!

Custom Wamphyri Shots
Khanada contacted us about a month ago with a request that almost put us in a panic! She wanted a Wamphyri, a type of vampire from Brian Lumley's Necroscope books. Aside from seeing those books at the store and thinking "gosh, those look cool, maybe we should read them", we knew next to nothing about them. Also, a web search online doesn't come up with much.We started out with a few sketch ideas that we found on Lumley's website, as well as a painting Khanada provided us with. What we came up with made us (and Khanada) pretty happy!
The Whamphyri tend to carry a Battle Gauntlet, which is all spikes and pokey bits. Yulien here needed a bad-ass Battle Gauntlet, so we put an extra fabric panel on his right hand went to work painting on some metallic scroll details, spikes, and claws. This is the first time we used metallic paints on the fabric, and it turned out pretty cool.
Here's a close up of Yulien's face. We're pretty proud of the detail!

Meet Byron and Amanda!!! It's Panda Tuesday!
Amanda is the Fanciest Panda this side of the Mississippi river. She has retired from her job as a singer at a low-rent saloon, and has been looking for a new job, preferably one that doesn't require dodging beer bottles!
Amanda the Fancy Panda is one of our Deluxe Art Dolls, and has a level of detail and accessorizing that takes her well above our already lofty standards!

Byron is a bit of a prankster, and likes to tell jokes about bamboo. Byron is a panda, after all, and since he has to eat bamboo all day long, he figured he may as well make it entertaining. Problem is, Bamboo is pretty boring stuff, and after the fourth version of "This Bamboo walks into a bar" most people want to pack Byron up in a crate and send him to Fiji! Little do they know, that's part of his plan!

Custom Zombies: Our Latest Projects, and How to Order!
We have been making Grimmleigh Zombies pretty much since the beginning, and there is really no chance that we will ever stop! The process is pretty simple, too! First, send in a quote request to Rachel, and let her know how gruesome you want the zombie, whether you want the zombie cartoonish or more realisitc, and any specific things that need to be included on your custom Grimmleigh, like clothing style, color of clothes, etc. We also need to know the color of your subject's eyes and hair, too.The starting price for a custom Grimmleigh Zombie is $40.00. Extra panels with more details will add to the overall price, but we will let you know the total before we start work. We do request 50% of the cost up front.
Once you have accepted the quote, we will need good, clear pictures of your subject (higher resolution is better, cell-phone pics not so much). If you have a specific facial expression, let us know. We will let you know about how long it should take us to finish your project, and we will send you proofs of your finished project when it's ready to ship. Once you check off on the final pictures, we will send an invoice for the balance, plus $5.00 shipping. And we don't just stop with zombies! We can make custom Grimmleighs of anyone you want, even your pets! You name the costume, genre, subject, WHATEVER, and we'll get to work!

Squeeee!!! Teeny! Tiny! Itty and Bitty?
It had to happen. We kept getting bigger projects, bigger orders, and bigger Grimmleighs. We've had a record month for custom orders, and we have something so big on the horizon that both of us are wearing diapers, you know, just in case. So, we decided to go small.
Really small. And guess what? Small equals CUTE! We would like to blame Candice with her teeny tiny bunny mobile, but it's our own damned fault. We got talking, and little ninjas came up. And Cyke Tykes. Then zombies (Yeah, it always comes back to zombies).
We have a whole bunch of little Grimmleighs debuting in the Etsy shop and at this weekend's Craft Sabbath show. Super small, super cute versions of out bigger Grimmleighs, these little guys join our Itty Bitty Squidleighs as our "starter" collectibles. We have a bunch of Grimmleighs that might be hard for kids or people on a budget to afford, and these guys solve that problem. Each one is between 3 and 4 inches tall, and costs only $10.00!
